Naturally Airy
In the 1930s, before air conditioning was customary, summer wardrobes relied on lightweight, cooling fabrics to keep wearers comfortable in the heat. Enter Seersucker. Originally woven from silk, it was discovered that using the same weaving pattern with cotton threads resulted in a durable, lightweight fabric that breathed beautifully in high heat and humidity. Brooks Brothers popularized the updated fabric in America with our seersucker suits, shorts and more. To this day we include seersucker styles in our spring-summer collections.
